Bikes & Bridges

I bought a new camera a few months ago. I got a Canon A-1 SLR. I finally took it out last week. Here a few shots I took around the city in Brisbane.

I've been listening to Defiance, Ohio on repeat lately. Whilst looking up lyrics I found this quote by them:
“Any relationship that matters – a friendship, a family, a romance, a band – anything – is a perilous and fragile thing because along with all the amazing experiences and creations that can come from something so intimate and exhausting comes the possibility for things to crumble and shatter or whither and die. When that happens, it's easy to forget what was precious amidst all the disaster. We should always carry our history with us but never let it bury us.”

Rock my boat

A drawing/lino print from my latest exhibition.

I'm never gonna know you...

... But I'm gonna love you anyhow.
A photo I recently took from Anthea's window. x

Brisbane Art

This is near Fortitude Valley train station. If you are looking for this, follow your nose to the home of the strong stench of urine.

Some altered ad-posters near Bunk in The Valley.

Guk tag down the road from Bunk. I like how he does his 'K's.

I don't know who the guy is who does these monkey faces, all I know is he's really prolific!

Nice typography on Anne street.

Racist Australian's who have access to mainstream media:

I'm working on a poster series about Australian's who ignite hate and persecution in our culture. Here is the first two offenders:

John Howard: After years of ignoring Indeginous health issues, and Indiginous land-rights, Howard decided to treat Aborignal's like second class citizens by banning alcohol and pornography, quarantining welfare payments, abolishing a permit system that limits access to remote communities, and mobilising extra police and troops in Aboriginal communities.
His legacy still lives on.

John Laws: "You've got to... well, I won't put it that way... well, I will: you've got to keep your eyes open."

Charlie Hillhouse

Charlie's a friend of mine, who takes photos, that to me are very 'Australian'. He takes portraits of pretty girls and pictures of weird towns like Ipswich. He's been feeling the internet blog love lately, so I thought I'd jump on the band-wagon and post some of his photos. Check out his flickr page
